Instant feedback on every writing exercise
In online writing courses, you usually don’t get any feedback on your exercises, or you have to wait for a reply. With ViaScripta, you get your feedback right away, on every exercise, as often as you like.
ViaScripta always knows what you’re learning. If an exercise is about tension, it looks at the tension in your writing, not at whether your piece is well written in general.
You get pointers on your own sentences: what’s already working, where it goes wrong, what you can do differently, and why. You don’t have to get it right the first time. No one’s looking over your shoulder.
Feedback
Learn to write dialogue that brings your characters to life.
You write conversations, but your characters sound too much alike. The conflict sits in the words instead of underneath them. This course changes that.
In this course, you write dialogue in which every voice sounds recognizably different. You weave in subtext so that what goes unsaid is more powerful than what is said. And you direct group conversations in which five characters talk and the reader always knows who’s speaking.

What You’ll Learn
Dialogue that does several things at once
Every line reveals character, sharpens conflict, or shifts a relationship. The best lines do two or three things at once.
Natural or stylized: you choose
You master the whole spectrum, from street slang to literary prose. You deliberately choose how your characters speak, and why.
Distinct voices
You give each character their own word choice, sentence length, and rhythm. Your reader knows who’s speaking, even without a “he said.”
Subtext as the engine of your conversations
You write scenes in which the real conversation happens beneath the words. What your characters leave unsaid drives the tension.
Dialogue and action as choreography
You weave words together with movement. A knife set down, an averted glance, a pause at exactly the right moment.
Group conversations that don’t derail
You direct scenes with three, four, or five speakers. Every voice has its own function, and no one is redundant.
Revising until every line works
You spot dead dialogue, unnecessary tags, and conversations that add nothing. You check what every line is doing. Whatever does nothing, you rewrite or cut.
Developing your own dialogue style
You discover which techniques fit your voice. You build a recognizable way of writing dialogue that is your own and sets your work apart.
Give your characters a voice that stays with the reader.
